Brave

The privacy browser

If you spend your days online researching, building, or investing, your browser is your workstation. Brave has been rebuilding that workstation from first principles: fast, private by default, and now packed with native tools that eliminate a tangle of plugins.

Why it’s interesting

  • Privacy-first, by default. Shields block ads, trackers, and fingerprinting without extensions. pages load fast and leak less data.

  • Search that stands on its own. Brave Search runs on its own index (not a Google/Bing wrapper) and now ships AI Answers that synthesize results while citing sources.

  • AI in the browser, not on your data. Leo, Brave’s built-in assistant, summarizes pages, translates, and drafts without using your chats to train models. Recent Android quick actions make it a single long-press away.

  • Less cognitive load. Between Shields, Leo, and AI Answers in Search, routine browsing gets distilled. Fewer cookie nags, fewer junk pages, faster answers.
